United’s Passengers Can Now Send in Test Results With its App
One of the biggest airlines in the US, United, has upgraded its travel app to give passengers the ability to find a convenient COVID-19 PCR test, book a reservation, receive their results and share the results with the airline. There are already over 200 testing locations, and more still to be added in the coming weeks.
This latest upgrade allows United Airlines’ passengers to enjoy a smoother travel experience, easing the process of getting a PCR test done and validating it. With United’s app, passengers can select a location for their test. The test results will later be sent to the passenger and the airline.
The app alerts passengers about their test results and other travel requirements. Those that meet all requirements and are tagged ‘travel ready’ will then be issued a digital boarding pass. Commenting on the upgrade, United Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer, Toby Enqvist, said,
“We continue to look for innovative solutions that make travel easier and safer for our customers and employees. This new feature enables customers to travel with confidence, knowing they can quickly locate a testing provider if they need one, schedule an appointment and get the results they need – all within the United Travel-Ready Center experience.”
United Airlines said that customers would choose from over 200 testing sites in the TrustAssure network. These sites include many of United’s hubs such as New York-Neumark, Los Angeles, Chicago, Huston, and San Francisco. Other testing sites have been set up at drug stores and major pharmacy chains.
While the current list of testing sites covers many areas, some locations are yet to be added to the list. United indicated that the matter would be taken care of as soon as possible, with more US cities added to their location list. United also says it intends to provide international testing facilities for passengers coming in from abroad.
